THE HYDRABAD (SIND)
NATIONAL COLLEGIATE BOARD
The Hyderabad (Sind)
National Collegiate Board was founded in the year 1921 in the undivided India
and was managing the National College in Hyderabad (Sind) . The Board was
associated with the National Movement
for the Independence of India. After the
Partition of the country in 1947, the members
of Sindhi Hindu Community were
compelled to abandon the college
and migrate to India. Late Vidyasagar Principal K.M.Kundnani appreciated the
need of his teaching fraternity and the community and
initiated efforts for starting
a college in
Mumbai. He received active support
and encouragement from Late Barrister Hotchand G.Advani, and they both founded
the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board in 1949 at Mumbai. Late Barrister H.G.Advani was the Founder President and Late Vidyasagar Principal K.M.Kundnani
was the Founder Secretary and Founder
Principal of the first college
started by the Board and known as the Rishi Dayaram National College,
Bandra in 1949. During the next half century the Board has set up a chain of
educational institutions belonging to various faculties such as Arts, Science,
Commerce, Management, Education, Law, Engineering, Technology and Para-medical
/ Pharmacy. The Board has now 18 institutions conducting courses at Post-Graduate, Under-Graduate, Diploma
and Certificate levels and 10 Schools.
The HSNC Board is headed by the
President Mr. Anil Harish, an eminent Tax Consultant and is assisted by Mr. Kishu H. Mansukhani, an eminent Engineer and Manager as the Vice President of the Board, Immediate Past President Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, an eminent builder and Padma Bhushan Dr. L.H.Hiranandani an eminent
ENT Specialist. All the four of them are
the trustees of the Board. Prof.
J.K.Bhambhani, an eminent Educationist as the Rector of the Board. Prof. J.K.Bhambhani is the
former Principal of K.C. College
and has been associated with the activities of the Board with
Late Barrister Hotchand G. Advani
& Late Principal K.M.Kundnani. Principal (Ms) Manju Nichani, the present Principal
of K.C. College, is the Secretary of
the Board. The members of the Board include
Educationalists, Industrialists,
Chartered Accountants, Doctors, Engineers and
eminent Professionals.
The VISION of the board is to make its institutions
world class comparable to the
best of institutions in India and abroad.
The MISSION of the board is to strive for excellence
in academics, sports and extra
curricular activities, promotion of
quality education to students at various levels, develop strong research
capabilities among the faculty and post graduate students. Under the dynamic leadership of the President
Mr. Anil Harish & immediate Past President Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, the
Board has undertaken the task of improvements in the infrastructural and
instructional facilities in the institutions by modernization and removal of
obsolescence. The Board has also initiated several International Exchange
Programs with foreign Universities and Institutions. The institutions of the
board are situated at various campuses viz., Colaba, Churchgate, Grant Road, Worli, Bandra and
Ulhasnagar. The Alumni of the Institutions of the Board are engaged in and
occupying responsible positions in
business, industry and other professional fields in India and abroad.
The Institutions of the Board attract high merited
students who have shown excellent results in the University examinations. The
students have also excelled in the sports and games and extra curricular
activities have won prizes in Inter College Competitions .They also participate
in the activities of the professional bodies / societies. The Board thus
continues to play a pivotal role in the spread of education in and around
Mumbai which has benefited a large number of students.
